Atorvastatin

Atorvastatin is a member of the statin class of drugs, primarily used to lower cholesterol and manage hyperlipidemia. It works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme involved in the synthesis of cholesterol in the liver, thus reducing cholesterol levels in the blood. Lowering cholesterol helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems associated with high cholesterol levels.
